Ever since I received my new iPhone on launch day and set the new phone up, I am unable to make calls or send texts.

I’ve gone through the settings, trying to figure out what may have changed, but can find nothing. I’ve restarted the phone, reset network settings, gone through all of the troubleshooting articles I could find, yet nothing.

I was able at one point to send iMessages, but reset it in the process of troubleshooting and now when I reenabled it and click to select where to send/receive iMessages from (phone number or email addresses), my number has the “working” symbol beside it as if it’s looking for the signal to allow me to select it for iMessages.

But outside of iMessage, no texts or pictures will send and no calls can be made.
Any tips?

Update - Fixed: And as these things usually go, after I ask for help, I finally figure it out. When my new phone came in, I removed the sim from my old phone and put it in the new phone. Apple had already programmed the esim with my phone account info so it was causing issues because my old sim was deactivated.
When receiving a call or text, it would go to my phone through the esim account but when I tried to make a call or text, it was set up to use the old deactivated sim.
Glad that’s finally fixed.

Glad you posted the outcome so we can learn too. I’m sure you’re not the only one who’s done that.
