iphone won`t turn on

I have a iphone 2g that had water damage. i fixed it and then i what to restore. after the i needed to unlock the phone. but my problem is i need to go in DFU mode and my power switch dont work. If i plug the phone into the wall mount the phone turn on. after it is booted. i use the power switch and turn it of. so the switch work. please help.
