Iphone Wont Backup

Hey Everyone,
So every time i plug my iPhone into iTunes it syncs perfectly but i cannot get it to backup no matter what i do (i deleted all old backups and everything). Can anyone help me backup my devise?

Have you completely powered down your phone and rebooted the computer?

My iPad wasn't backing up the other day on my Mac (which, since the last backup, had also been upgraded to Lion). After this, it worked.
