iPhone won't charge

Okay so my iPhone is juiced out and has no battery, i put it to charge and the apple sign comes up and my iphone turns on to the Lockscreen,then it turns of and wont continue to charge. It happens eveytime like this. Can i get some help please

tried alternative methods of charging ? usb, mains psu etc.
