iPhone Won't Connect To iTunes?

I plugged a USB into my Macbook to unlock my disabled iPhone 4S, but for some reason it says this:

'iTunes could not connect to the iPhone because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPhone before it can be used with iTunes.'

I need my phone back working by tomorrow. I'm in the UK. Please help.
