i recently broke a sim card holder inside my iphone, and went to apple to have it removed.

they said no, because they don't work with water damage, and apparently it got wet.

so while everything works fine, the warranty is void because of water damage.

anyway, i ordered a new sim card holder after removing it myself, and it won't read the sim card whenever i put it in. i tried putting my father's sim card in it, and it still won't read.

any ideas/suggestions?

As a final resort, you could try something like "Deoxit" on the SIM contacts. This can remove corrosion from the internal 'phone contacts.

Oh dear! That looks like the internal contacts have been physically damaged :(
