Go to the gym alot, and started noticing my music isnt playing loud at all. I put it up ALL THE WAY, and still not really loud. At first thought it was the headphones, but i just plugged them into my old Ipod Nano, and they work fine. The volume works normally on the ipod, back to the iphone and its not loud.

Volume limit is all the way up too.

Probably a good thing it's not loud! Nothing more irritating than having to listen to other peoples "loud" iPods/iPhones! :)

sometimes I lose some functionality of my iPhone headphones due to lint being in the iPhone's headphone jack... can of air or a toothpick/paperclip could solve the problem

This may be dumb, but do you have a case on your phone? Some cases don't allow for the headphones to be pushed in all of the way, causing them to sound quiet, or sound to come out of only one side.

Yee, try to push them all the way in. If they are new headphones they may need to be broken in. Just don't JAMM them in.
