All of my wife's iPhone apps mysteriously were erased and all that are left are the stock Apple apps. We are thinking our son got a hold of it, but not sure. If, in fact, our son did get a hold of it we are not sure if he individually erased all of the apps or reset the phone possibly.
At any rate, I went to iTunes, plugged in the iPhone, hit restore and now the iPhone is in an endless restore loop. iTunes will say it has been restored, but then will ask me again if I want to setup as a new phone or restore from backup.
What are my options? Should I setup as a new phone and then restore again and hopefully be able to bring back her backup or should I do a "reset all settings" within the phone settings and see what happens?
I am hoping not all is lost. I have both an iTunes backup as well as an iCloud backup from later October.

Thanks in advance.
