Iphone won't restore.

I had to get a new iphone.

So, I backed up my old iphone and then restored everything to the new iphone.

Everything gets restored. Apps etc. But, I thought it restores it to a mirror image of the old phone.

In addition, all the iMessages did not transfer over.

Any help would be great. Thank you.
