iphone wont start, broken power button

Hi Guys,

Got a 3GS from my cousin which worked fine apart from the non functioning power button. I tried to reset the phone to default with itunes to get rid of his personal data etc. Now the thing wont start, or even make a blink. My comp/itunes wont detect the device. I cant get into DFU since the power button doesnt work

Any advice would be appreciated

Why?
If power button doesn't work phone will still booth if it gets connected to the computer/charger.
