iPhone wont sync w/ iTunes - iTunes doesn't see it anymore

So I went to sync up this AM - got some weird message about itunes not being able to sync to this iphone. Also got some error code (that I should have written down).

I've got a iPhone 4 w/ the latest iOS on it. I have a Mac Mini w/ the latest and greatest on THAT.

Apple support doc has not helped to this point, but the next step is to manually uninstall iTunes and re-install.

Anybody have to go this route? Did it work for you?

Tried:

Rebooting Mac
Fix permissions
Reboot iPhone

I'm debating trying the PRAM wipe and removing the power cord for 5-10 minutes to reset everything else.

Any ideas?

Very un-maclike - my stuff has been bulletproof up until now. Its like Windows dejavu.

One possible issue that causes that is Voice Memo.

Check your Voice Memo app. There may be duplicates of previous voice memos you made. Note the content down and delete them all. If this was the issue, then it will sync now.
