Hi,

I have iPhone X, a car Bluetooth receiver (link below)......works great, sounds awesome except when i make or take a phone call the sound only goes through my phone, not through sound system, the phone doesnt recognise the bluetooth as an option to direct sound output through. My Android which i can connect the 3.5mm headphone jack with plays the audio through the car stereo and the microphone via the phone microphone. So hands free with the Android is no issue due to the 3.5mm jack. Both the iPhone and the android both fail to transmit the phone call audio to the Bluetooth Receiver.

In the settings of the iPhone I can alter the device type as shown in the image below, but all options do not divert the sound to the Bluetooth receiver and car stereo.

Any suggestions here? Surely there is a workaround for this.......

Another site I posted the question said to try the following, but didnt work....

settings -> accessibility -> touch -> call audio Routing
Settings -> phone -> announce calls

If your car supports CarPlay using the USB port, plug your iPhone into the USB port of your car or stereo. The USB port might be labeled with a CarPlay icon or a smartphone icon.

If your car supports wireless CarPlay, press and hold the voice command button on your steering wheel to set up CarPlay. Or make sure that your car is in wireless or Bluetooth pairing mode. Then on your iPhone, go to Settings > General > CarPlay > Available Cars and choose your car. Check the manual that came with your car for more information
