Iphone Wont turn on

Hello Every one,

My Name is Carl I am new to this forum.

I am hoping one of you nice helpful people maybe of some assistance.

I connected my Iphone 3GS to a friends notebook via the usb cable provided to charge up.

Once I disconnected it and attempted to turn it on there were no response.

I have tried holding both buttons and DFU with no response just a blank black screen.

Can some one please help?

You hold both the power and home buttons, until the phone restarts (not turns off), to reboot the phone. DFU mode is something else. See my sig for an explanation of how to use DFU mode.
