hello guys, i am wondering something.

My family and i are switching from alltel to ATAT when the new iPhone comes out. One of our interests is the discount i get through my work. My understanding the original iPhone was not eligable for this discount (on the monthly bill), i am wondering if the new phone will be? Seeing as they are going to standard smart phone plans and all that i wouldnt see why not.

maybe you guys can shed some light. thanks!

There are rumors (including a leaked AT&T memo) that says the corporate discounts will apply. However, nothing official has been announced.

Our ATT corporate rep confirmed we'll get 25% off the phone. It varies from company to company so you'll have to check with your rep.

i was more interested in the monthly discounts on the bill actually, i should have been more specific!

in the email leaked from att. it stated that fan discounts will be honoured on the service planns not on the device itself.

im sorry that was suposed to be plannnns my spelling scuks

well atleast its pretty much guaranteed that i will get a discount through my work right? haha

i wont get your mate in trouble!

Question on data plans

I get a discount via work to but will they make me take the $45 data plan even though I have no intentions of using my phone for work related business and will only be a personal phone.

where can i find this leaked memo or whatnot?

Here it is:

RU service discounts for both voice and data pans will apply to iPhone 3G, but not 2G iPhone.
CRU service discounts for voice and data will apply to both 2G and 3G, when on a qualifying data plan.
IRUs will not get a discount on device purchase for 2G or iPhone 3Gs.
Data Pricing will be as follows:
Consumer Data Plan (must be added to qualified voice plan):
$30 - Unlimited Data (E-mail/Web), includes Visual Voicemail

I don't get it. What's the price difference between business and personal? All I see is that for business it's $45 for the data plan while it's $30 for personal. Are there other discount advantages to setting it up as a business account?

It's not the plans on their site. If your company or school has some type of contract/business deal with AT&T than you can get a discount. Check here:

https://www.wireless.att.com/business/authenticate/

The actual discount varies from company to company though.

$30 for consumer plans and $45 for business users.

The $15 difference is because of the whole "business users will utilize the network MORE" theory.

ok can you guys maybe simplify this for me.

Through my work i get 25 percent off towards the monthly bill of atat cell services, though not from the original phone. Will the new phone and new data plan allow me to get the discount?

thank you guys so much for helping me

So business users will have to pay for the data? We better hope they allow tethering on the business accounts!

As long as AT&T makes it official then it should.

What am I going to do is sign up for a contract at Apple/AT&T get my iPhone, and then go online to the Premiere website, enter my mobile number and then the discount should take place from there on.

so its pretty much offical through the memo but not "offically" announced yet?
