Carrier Iphone x 2nd gen ordering from AT&T

So much easier to pre order. iPhone shows up on release day. No need to guess if the selected store will have the phone.
Just going back to last Nov on X release date. There were aa handful of stores in the Philly area (And there are a lot of stores) that only had maybe 2 Space Gray, 2 Silver (Total of two 64gb, and two 256), that was it and they were gone with in 10-15 min.
Stock sloooooooly improved by mid, late Nov. when I looked at iStockNow site, many X's at local Apple stores..1 might pop up at a Target - But even then you had to act fast!
It's just easier to preorder, save the aggravation. Yeah staying at until 3am (East coasters...as many of us have to wake up a few hours later to go to work) 12am West Coast, kinda stinks. But ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Depends on where you are, what city as some waitied for a while before they got the X. Also depends on how many Apple has on hand.
You really need to preorder.

At release just preorder, AT&T stores get limited stock priority goes to Apple stores first. No lines or waiting.
I’d pre-order too. If you can’t be home for the delivery (or you don’t feel comfortable pre-signing and having it left at your door), you can just pick it up later that day from UPS or FedEx. If you’re financing the purchase through AT&T, you can pre-order from the Apple website or AT&T’s - personally, I have more trust in Apple’s website and ordering than AT&T’s, but YMMV. I’ve used both in the past with success.
Interestingly enough, last years orders were from ATT site, Apple app and site were down 3 minutes past 3am and att went in right away. Usually it is the other way around. Im not even sure how to do it this year...I usually order my phones through Apple store app for quick results through Apple Pay etc.
I'll have to bring myself up to speed as to the quick check out process. tricks etc.
Preorders usually sell out within minutes for launch day delivery. So you can preorder the day after preorders start but you will probably not get it launch day.
Yes you can pre-order anytime after pre-orders go live.
Once it is available to the public it's just a normal order.
Now. Like mentioned above. The other question is, are you expecting to get the phone on release day? If so, there are two options. Be awake and order the second that pre-orders go Live. Or go find a line to stand in to get launch day phone.
If you don't mind a few days to few weeks after launch then the day after may be fine to simply ensure you get one.

So what you are saying i can pre order the day after pre orders go live? I can stand waiting a few days to weeks for a phone.
