First, this is my experience with my new iPhone X, your experiences may be different. This is the 8th iPhone I have owned since it's inception.

Physical Size - Looks small, plays big. Sitting on a table looks tiny, holding in your hand feels good. As someone that tours the country on a motorcycle several times a year...this thing fits in my pocket much better than the larger PLUS sized phones (NOTE: I'd still rather have a PLUS sized phone though). But this smaller size is NOT disappointing.

Notch - NOT an issue
Heat - NOT an issue (so far)
Battery - Absolutely NOT AN ISSUE
Face ID - So far worked 100% of the time (pros and cons for face id - but pros always win)
Screen Quality - Like BUTTAH
Brightness - Buncha bull. Screen brightness is FINE
True Tone - Turned off
Speed of iPhone - FAST, real FAST
Camera - Exceptional
Video - Very good
Image Quality - Exceptional
Portrait Camera - Much improved
Portrait Mode - (natural, studio, contour) - OK, but could be better, Stage lighting needs LOT of improvement!
Keyboard - Smaller and takes a little getting used to
Gestures - Again, a pain during the learning curve. Once mastered, its fine

Overall - Yes, I spent over a ($)GRAND on it, so naturally I want to "justify" my purchase, and you know what...I am. YES IT'S A WINNER.

All these threads complaining...are COMPLAINERS. I'm not saying that some might have gotten a defective unit...maybe they did and maybe they are just nitpicking whiners.

Remember, most people that post about problems are the minority. Most people that are happy with their iPhones are out using them and not wasting their time being a whiner on a website.

With all my playing with them in Best Buy and Apple Store, I agree with your review. For some reason, I have no issue with the smaller keyboard. You can tell just by looking at it, it is a fair amount smaller. I got fat fingers and arthritis and thought it would be a problem. But, have been typing 99% error free, so far.

I agree with portrait mode needing more work.

I didn’t find the gestures to be a pain, but maybe it’s from watching too many videos showing them before I got my phone. I actually find it a pain now to change my grip on the iPad to use TouchID when using it for authentication after the iPad has already been unlocked.

Is this what you call a review?!
Well, he did have “simple” in the title, so I wasn’t expecting a book.

At First, the keyboard does feel smaller and more slimlined. But I think it's just an adjustment When using it longer overtime.

I wondered if they fine tuned the keyboard. I seem to do better on the X than my Plus. I remember when they first came out on the iPhone, I was horrible at it. Maybe just experienced enough at that time.

Coming from a plus, the keyboard took some adjustment but I’m used to it now. I find when using the keyboard one-handed though I sometimes unintentionally trigger the keyboard switching dictation buttons in the corners with my palm. That is my only issue with the keyboard. And similarly, when using it with one hand, either one or the other of those two button is impossible to reach with a thumb as the angle is too difficult. Maybe move those two buttons under the space bar?
