I thought this tidbit from Apple's website was interesting.
"The iPhone X display has rounded corners that follow a beautiful curved design, and these corners are within a standard rectangle. When measured as a standard rectangular shape, the screen is 5.85 inches diagonally (actual viewable area is less)."
That's why I couldn't understand where they were getting 458 PPI from as a 5.8" OLED panel yields 462 PPI. This is similar to what Samsung has done on the S8 with its curved edges but a rectangular panel measuring 5.8" diagonally.
It's actually a pretty large display and thank goodness the useable space is greater than 5.15" as previously rumored!
