iPhone X and Apple Upgrade Sign Up For the First Time

I am looking to order the black 64gb X when it becomes available to order on the 27th. I will want to sign up for the apple upgrade program when I place my order and considering the expected shortage in stock I was going to ask if any of you have experience with an online signup for the upgrade program during a new product launch and if there are any tips to speed up the enrollment process so that I can submit the request quickly before shipping times start to slip. Any info is appreciated.

I asked this in another thread but I believe the preapproval is only for current IUP users.

I chatted online with an Apple CSR, and she confirmed that you can’t get preapproved for the program, you have to apply during the ordering process.

It would appear you can only get preapproved if you are a current IUP user which is great for IUP users but bad for anyone looking to get onto the program for the first with the X hoping to get it launch day.
