At first I thought this was an issue with my provider, Verizon but now I’m not so sure. For the past month I’ve been fighting with Verizon about cell signal in my city, where I have bars but 0 data. I get data from anywhere from 20 seconds to 20 mins. Toggling airplane mode or rebooting is the only way to restart this timer.

Now I don’t have WiFi at my house, but something interesting happened last night. I was at a bar in my city and I had to connect to WiFi to do their trivia and my WiFi would drop out every 1-3 mins similar to my LTE!

Now I’m starting to wonder if it’s my iPhone X. All my friends in the town are on androids and have no reported issues.

Currently I’m on 12.1.2, but started happening on 12.0 (I updated to see if it would fix the issue at the recommendation of Verizon). I’ve tried everything short of factory resetting my phone.

Edit: Also interesting thing to note, if I have a constant data connection my LTE will NOT drop out ever. For example if I hotspot it to my Xbox, it’s constantly using very little data, my phone will never drop data. Similar to if I stream a movie on my phone. For those 2 hours I’m safe.
