l received a call, answered it on my iPad via WiFi feature. When I hung up, I heard a strange siren sound from the other room (Which I assume came from my iPhone). I next received another call. The caller said it was 911, asking if everything was ok. I went to find my phone, and it indicated that 911 was called.

The phone was sitting on a bed, face up, with nothing touching the buttons.

I am assuming there is a glitch with the wifi phone sharing feature (isn’t there a new emergency call feature with the X?) and the X.

I had the same problem. I don't understand what happened. I was attempting to setup up FaceID and it called 911.??!!

I just opened FaceTime on my iPad, and it asked me to enter a code on the phone so that I could make calls with the iPhone. I remember this happening before, though I ignored it as I didn’t have the phone near me at the time.

Beyond the 911 issue, why was I able to receive a call if I didn’t complete the setup?

I have no idea why that 911 call was initiated at that time, but iOS does give you some options with emergency calling.
You COULD turn the Auto Call function off - Settings/Emergency SOS, then change Auto Call to Off.

But, yes, could be some bug that is only on the X

[doublepost=1510471475][/doublepost]My new iPhone 8 just dialed 911 by itself. It was sitting face up on my headboard. I was sleeping. A siren sounded and I picked up the phone and it was calling 911. I tried to cancel the call but it wouldn’t stop. Luckily I was by my phone when it happened and was able to tell the dispatcher that it was an error. I’m concerned it could happen again. Any advice?
