iPhone X randomly turned off one day and would not turn back on. This is my fiance's phone and she's been complaining for a few days that the phone was running a bit sluggish. Connected it to the computer, hard reset (volume up, down, and side button). iTunes recognized the device, said it needed to be restored. The screen showed a power cable and 'support.apple.com/iphone/restore.' Restore got to about 60% and a box popped up "iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occured (1). Attempted multiple times, tried it on my macbook/PC, and tried different cables with no luck.

From googling, it looks to be possibly a hardware malfunction. Phone has always bee in a protective case and never abused. Unfortunately it is out of warranty and I do not have apple care on it.

Has anyone had any lucky fixing that error? If not, best ideas on getting the most out of it? (The phone itself is in mint condition).

Thanks!
