iPhone X iPhone X Face ID better with 12.1?

Is it just me or does it seem more responsive?

It seems to be unlocking at different angles and not before getting the phone straight on and it will be open already

For me it’s more responsive on my X, except the animation unlocking it is slow now.

I haven’t noticed any difference from 12.0.1. There’s a thread in the iOS12 forum discussing the exact opposite. Many believe their Faceid has slowed down:

Seems a little more sluggish to me, but the iOS 12 update with the swipe to retry makes it easier when checking the face lying horizontally. I guess it evens itself out, I’m probably just used to Face ID by now so any imperfections are amplified.

Maybe my face is wrong. My teacher once described my head as “a shape only a bowling ball could love”. Luckily I have 9 siblings with the same deformation, so we got on really well with Owen “the Orbit” Wilkinson. Nice guy, three holes in his skull. You wouldn’t nominate him for your maths team but boy could the bloke tend a garden.

“Sniper’s Dream”, they used to call him. Sniper being the girl at school who had a crush on him. Weird name for a girl though what do you expect when her Dad was called Walther.
