After just 3 days of usage my phone now tells me, that there is a problem with my TrueDepth camera and that FaceID, Animojis and all other fancy features related to it are now deactivated. It provides a link to a support page which tells me to see the Apple support. *sigh*

Anybody else experienced this? Is there another solution than visiting the apple store. (hard reset didn't work)

Any idea whether Apple would be able to swap the device given the current shortages?

Someone else had the same message, and I think they got a same-day replacement.

Go straight to an Apple Store (if you can); they’ll either replace it on the spot, or tell you when they’ll get the next shipment of phones and hold one for you to pick up.
