Confused about fast charging and whether or not it's compatible with any wireless charging.

Articles I've read (https://www.theverge.com/circuitbre...-iphone-8-x-fast-charging-usb-c-power-charger) state that fast charging is available for iPhone X, but will it be available out of the box if I buy the supplies needed? Or is this something we have to wait for Apple to activate?

Also, if I buy the 29W USB-C Power Adapter + USB-C to Lightning Cable is there a wireless charger that will be able to support it? Can I plug in the cable into the wireless charger and just put the phone on it for fast charging?

You only need the USB-C adapter and USB-C to lightning cable to fast charge via cable. You will need a Qi charger that is at least 7.5W for wireless fast charging. Apple is supposed to release a software update to enable Qi 7.5W charging.

I read a review on the Verge about the Belkin wireless charger that is "future proof" with up to 15 W. So that means if/when Apple decides to allow it to charge that fast, an adapter that does 15W (or close to it) will support that?
