I know a lot of people always post “don’t have those issues” because they’re prideful with their purchase and don’t want to admit to their phone having issues — but is anyone else’s iPhone X having random freezes, or respringing?

It seems to happen with any random app, but most notable the main apps like fb, Instagram, etc. Also I can’t close apps while in a phone call for whatever reason.

Dont have those issues comments are helpful to know if its a core problem, and perhaps apple is working on it. Like the i.

Or if you are alone, and you need to take drastic steps like hardware reset or visit an apple store.

I don’t have your issue, my apps run better than ever, with fewer issues than my old ram choked iphone 6.

Would a simple reset do it if I did a restore from backup again? Or does that cause issues? I have too much pictures and information I need to do a clean wipe. Otherwise I would wipe the whole thing and start fresh.

Also.. I was on iOS 11.1, I never had issues with the i? Not sure why I didn't.

I too am having the issues you described. Mostly when I try to use Facebook, Instagram, Mail, the App will refuse to load, and instead i simply get a blank white screen or sometimes just my wallpaper with no icons. Very odd. I have done a power cycle as well as a soft reset, and neither fixed the problem. I am on iOS 11.1.

I used icloud synch on my previous phone and set X up as new.

Everything synched from my old phone without having to restore from backup.

I haven't been having any issues.

My phone hasn’t frozen once. All been good. And that’s not because I’m “prideful with my purchase,” it’s because I just haven’t had any issues.

Is there a difference with restoring and doing an iCloud restore? Isn’t it essentially putting all that same data and settings back?

Also for anyone wondering — I talked to a friend at Apple. He told me to update to 11.2 beta 2. Told me Apple is optimizing updates more so for the X since it’s a brand new phone. Pretty sure there’s a weird bug or issue from backup that’s making the x do weird stuff, since I did this on my 8 Plus last night from the same backup on iTunes and it was fine and didn’t bug out.

Safe to say, 24 hours later I haven’t had any slow downs, resprings or reboots. This was from backing up on 11.1.1 and updating up the newest 11.2 Beta. No restores and things are smooth. I probably shouldn’t have said that but I’ll report back if it stays this way.

Icloud synch is different than restore from a backup. The backup brings settings and configurations from the previous phone. Sometimes over time things get corrupted or a little wacky. That's one of the reason tech support has people set the phone up as new during trouble shooting.

Using icloud brings the things you would synch between multiple devices, like photos, safari passwords, contacts, health data, etc...

If you have an email account besides icloud, you will have to set that up again, but it will download all your email.

You'll have to enter your Wi-Fi password, But then icloud keychain will synch the rest.

Really, the only thing you lose are messages imessage until Apple releases imessages in the cloud.

You'll have to download any apps you want, but that's a nice way for me to weed out spoofs I haven't been using.

That’s the thing I’m worried about. My app data and game saves.
