I recently bought the iPhone X. Honestly have been disappointed by a few things. Mostly the performance. During gaming screen brightness goes down. I live in India. It gets hot in here. The other day the phone got so hot during navigation that I could not even make a call. I kept getting 'call failed'. Had to wait 5-6 minutes for it to cool down.

Other thing that bothers me the most is the jerky scrolling inside apps such as Instagram, Google News, Twitter. I have attached a video.
Notice mainly at 16 seconds (towards the end of video). The screen sort of skips and jumps as new feed items are downloaded.

I hope mine is not a defected piece. I read Apple is doing screen replacements for iPhone X.

Last time I used iOS was during iPhone 6s and iOS 9 and iOS 10 days. All the apps used to open so fast back then. How did Apple lose the plot in just 2 years? iPhone is smoother but my OnePlus 5 was definitely faster in other things.

And please don't reply with comments like " Go back to your OnePlus 5" and all. I have a Macbook. I do not hate Apple.

Such scrolling tests should be run within apps integrated with the OS such as mail / messages. Instagram and any other app develops pagination differently based on what they feel is good for their service.

I have mentioned 3 apps. All of these are popular apps. What am i supposed to do? Just use system apps on a 1000$ device.

I want to know if other people are also experiencing this.

I’m saying it doesn’t matter what you see within a third party app. Specifically pagination mechanism is dependent on how it has been developed and not really related to how expensive the phone is. If you want to compare then compare against messages / mail / news , the apps developed by apple. That will be your benchmark.

My X would not scroll smoothly on a couple of apps. One was my Wells Fargo app. All other was smooth as glass so it my not be your phone that is the problem, could be the site you are visiting.

My iPhone X was having screen issues so I got it "fixed" this past week. They replaced the screen (for free, see the link below) and now it's worse and I'm having the same issue you're having.

I'm going to take it in and have it fixed, again.

Can you elaborate on screen issues. I have not really had any ghost touches or unresponsive screen. Once I had the screen flickering of icons, but haven't had it again.
I was hoping the jerky scrolling is just because of poor iOS performance.
