I might get one of the new iPhones X, if they are at all available to preorder. I'm not going to queue anywhere though and therefore might have to wait until mid 2018, but anyway.
For some reasons (experiences with the iPhone 7 NON-PLUS) I would rather like a Qualcomm modem in my future iPhone. Now the "usual" sites haven't got info about the suppliers, and until iFixit tears one of the Xes apart they probably won't.
However, I think I am improving my chances of getting a Qualcomm modem if I go for the CDMA version (A1865) instead of the UMTS one. Apple's website at this time does not show any info about the iPhone X LTE bands, but they do list them for the iPhone 8. And from that I have come to the conclusion that the CDMA iPhone 8 model is the better option to buy ANYWAY because it's not missing anything but just has one thing more, CDMA. The UMTS, GSM and LTE channels are the same (probably to allow CDMA customer to roam internationally) on both phones.
Can anyone confirm this?
I am not living in one of the markets with CDMA networks but I'd probably order an iPhone X from the US just to get the Qualcomm modem...
