iphone X preorder and store pickup possible ?

i am from germany, my english is not the best, but i hope you understand me
Will it be possible to preorder the new iphone X and choose a store pickup ?
If it is possible ... when will i pay the new iphone ? When i have ordered or when i will pick it up in the store ?

Usually at pre-order you have the option to choose pick up in store. Since you already paid for it, they hold it for you for about 2 weeks or so. If it doesn't get picked up after that period, it gets sent back to the warehouse and they refund you the money.

I would say shipped to your home. Mainly because the carriers already have your item the day before and they deliver most times in the early morning or afternoon. And then not everybody lives close to an Apple store either, which is more convenient for the carrier to deliver.
