iPhone X iPhone X Screen Frozen and Hot

I'm posting on behalf of my Brother.

He put his iPhone X on charge and it's now stuck on this screen (see photo) and is very hot around the camera lens area...even when not on charge.

The phone won't respond or do anything. Any ideas?

Thanks. How? It won't respond to anything...even long pressing the power button.
