Hey guys, I'm traveling to the US from Canada, I'm looking to purchase a new iPhone X that is unlocked so I can use it when I return. The only retailer I can find that sells it brand new is Best Buy, the model number shows it as a Verizon model, even though it's listed as unlocked on the website. If I purchase this unlocked verizon model is it truly unlocked to any carrier world wide, or only unlocked in the US? Also this model comes with the Qualcomm Modem correct?

Did you check to see if Apple stores here in the US carry the unlocked sim free version of the iPhone X? I purchased a brand new iPhone 8 sim free model from our local Apple store. I'm sure Apple stores still carry the sim free unlocked version of the iPhone X.

I checked the apple store website, it shows the iPhone 8 still for sale, but not the iPhone X. I did some more research and it seems that if I insert a Verizon SIM card first, the phone should be unlocked for any carrier. Does anyone know if I can buy a Verizon SIM card without having a Verizon account?
