I cannot find the word to describe it but when holding the iPhone X in one hand, its not as comfortable as the aluminium finishes on the old iPhones because its not 'matte smooth' ? It makes a squeaky sound..

Is it just me? Do I need greasier hands?

I think I know what you mean. Let me ask you, do you have the space gray version? I noticed that same feeling on my iPhone X and I actually like it because it gives me a better grip on the phone. I think it has to do with the PVD coating on the space gray version.

I have the space grey one

Silver doesn't have this issue, it feels nice in the hand , nice and smooth

I think the X fits better and is gripper than any iPhone since the 5S/SE. Aluminum is slipper and the 6-8 are very slippery.

I dont know if squeeky describes it, but I know what you mean.

When I tried it instore the space grey felt different, I didnt mind though

When you say it’s squeaky, is the squeaking coming from the contact between your hand and the phone, or between components in the phone? Haven’t noticed a problem with either, but if it’s the former, that makes sense because it’s a smooth surface. Give it some time to grease up.

Former, I think its just the coating and may just have to deal with it
