Hello All,

I sincerely appologise as I am sure this subject has come across here but I cannot seem to find the right answers..
A family memebr of mine has purchased an AW S9 and sadly found out it would not pair to her iPhone X.
From what I understand, it's because the X no longer supports updates. So what options does she have besides upgrading the phone?
Change the AW for an older version? I have read jailbreak will do the trick?

Thanks in advance

As far as I have read, it's all about iOS vs watchOS. If the apple watch is running on version 10 it will not work on a phone with iOS 16..

That is absolutely correct! So if she gets an Apple Watch series 8 (or older) she must get one that has not yet been updated past watchOS 9 to be compatible with an iPhone X that can’t run later than iOS 16.

Apple Watch series 4 and later models can all be updated to watchOS 10, even if all features are not available on the older models.

Apple Watch series 3 can not be updated past watchOS 8.
