iPhone + Xbox remote?

XBox remote is IR and the iPhone doesn't have any IR capability so there is never going to be a simple solution!

You'd need something like this for it to work. Then you've gotta hope the company that makes it has the controls for Xbox 360 built in.

sorry, i realize now that my post was unclear... i meant the remote control with the joysticks and buttons, the gaming remote, not the "tv" remote

Negative. We'll be lucky if we can even use the iPhone as the actual remote. Using the iPhone as a controller is pretty much out of the question. If all of the buttons were on the screen, it would be pretty cramped and uncomfortable.
