I have't kept up with all of the XR threads so I just noticed the XR doesn't use a micro-SIM. I bought two from Apple (outright purchases). They will be Christmas gifts. I guess we'll have to take a trip to AT&T before the phones can be used?

You can easily convert micro sims into nano sims yourself without going to your carrier.
That's what I meant. Find a friend with a cutter or buy a cheap one on Amazon. It's cheap and easy to do. No need to ever involve the carrier. Not really. If you have a SIM cutter that is fine but have seen many SIM card ruined from user attempts to cut them down.
