iPhone XR iPhone Xr stereo playback

Hello guys,

I recently grabbed an iPhone Xr and was wondering how loud the earpiece speaker is supposed to be when playing music / watching a video?

If I cover the bottom speaker, I can hear music coming from the top speaker but it's a lot fainter than the bottom one.

Is this normal?

I tried playing a video in landscape on my 11, and yes, the bottom speaker sounds louder. Probably because the bottom speaker is bigger (the top speaker seems smaller due to the size of the notch).
