I have a XS Max that was OK with iOS 12.2 with 300+ Mbps download/ 40+ upload wifi on my 5ghz network. After upgrading to iOS 12.3 the wifi speed has dropped to one tenth of that 35 down/5 up. I have a 2018 iPad also with the iOS 12.3 upgrade and an iphone 8 with iOS 12.2. The wifi is running fine on both of those devices (300 down/40 up). I understand that it is realted to the Intel hardware on the XS max. I have tried all of the suggest fixes - forget and reconnect network, wifi assist off and on, reset network settings, hard reset of iphone, cycle the router/modem. I don’t want to resort to downgrading to iOS 12.2. Anybody have any other ideas that have worked? Is Apple aware of this? Are there any pending patches?

My only issues with the XS 5ghz channel is how useless it becomes with enough distance from the phone to the router. 2018mbp and 7+ maintain a good (not great) connection on the 5ghz channel at identical distances, but the XS is weak and unreliable.

For me this has always been the case with the XS, no matter the OS number. It is frustrating because when the 5ghz channel has a solid connection, everything feels instantaneous.

I know this does not help you out, just wanted to add to the topic. Good luck.

Ask me how ashamed I feel when my driver's Redmi 3S Prime performs comparable or better to my Qualcomm X assuming both have Jio sims. At best ours perform the same, mine certainly doesn't have much/any lead. The only catch is that in India LTE speeds rarely cross 20 Mbps.
