Obviously, whatever I choose will be a massive upgrade to what I have been using for over 7 years. My recent journey into automotive media (car reviews, podcasting, car builds) has put a glaring spotlight on my phone's inability to be of use in many media environments (SEMA, press events, etc). My go-to is a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 (which will remain), but for those moments of posting to social media, quick shorts/reels... It's been a struggle.

Given my clear tendency to buy a phone and keep it for basically forever.. Lol. I wonder if I'd hinder myself more on a 17 Air (given its limitations), as opposed to a Pro model? Or go Pro and guarantee my needs are met for easily the next 6 years?

Carrying large items in my pocket is annoying, but I may have to just get over that. Which is where the Air intrigues me. My wife has a 15 Pro Max (yes, it's a brick, it's heavy... but very capable). That is where the 17 Pro model may make the most sense, as the Pro Max is even bigger at 6.9".

Color is most likely silver... I'm buying it outright to that's a factor. My XS Max has 256GB, and since this time last year, I've used up only 100GB (probably due to its slow performance and camera issues).

The 256GB model could be enough, but longevity is the goal here... might go 1TB, sensible choice is 512GB.
