Hi All,

So before few days I made the jump from iPhone 6 (!!) to iPhone XS.

I was really happy in the first few min from the speed, the no home button. Every thing is fast snappy.

But after few min of working with it I felt like am looking on a cheap LCD panel back in the days before the IPS, where the eyes start to ache.

- At first I thought it was because of the color shift when you move the phone ( makes me funny how they talk about the blacks are so "deep", but in the mean time all the colors are so washed out even if you move the phone in the slightest angle)
- Then I read it is because of the white point, so I play with it, no success...
- Then I read to turn the true tone off, no success.

No matter what I do with it, looking on the iPhone 6 panel is much more easy on the eyes. Sure it has less color gamut and less punchy colors, but when reading regular text on white background it is much easier and pleasing.

I saw there are few threads on this matter with the iPhone X.
So where this "Screen gate" stands today ? with the XS?
What can be done to make it easier on the eyes?

Sounds like you’re sensitive to the PWM in apples OLED screens. Nothing you can do unfortunately apart from hope they either sort it out next year, change to an LCD screen or wait till the go MicroLED.
