iPhone4 stalls in upgrade process and shows the connect to iTunes message-NEED HELP!!

I recently used JailBreakMe to jail break my iPhone 4. A friend wanted to test face time on her iPod Touch but when she tried to contact me there was an error message that said I have to upgrade to 4.0.1 So I decided to do that. Instead of doing restore first and then upgrade when I got an upgrade message from iTunes, i just pressed the upgrade button. Now iTunes takes a long time to upgrade and stalls in the process. Now the phone just shows the connect to iTunes message...I need some help as to how to get my phone to work again. Thanks
