Can the new Iphone be jail broken & unlocked to be used on T-mobile?

Thanks

:( Ok, thanks

Also -

I'm using a 3G 3.0 - 04.26.08 on t-mobile. Can I upgrade to the latest update from Apple and continue to use T-mobile?

Thanks

Great! Thanks.

So I should just backup the phone - then upgrade JB and Unlock - and Im done.

Will all my data be maintained?

if you have a regular 3g iphone. not a 3gs.. DO NOT UPGRADE TO 4.0 I've heard many things that it will run laggy and buggy.

I went ahead and jumped to 4.0 on my 3G. I find it just as slow as it was before. Of course I had backgrounds running before on 3.1.2, so maybe I'm just used to it (or I have a bunch of patience).

The Jailbreak was easy. I tried two different methods. First was Snowbreeze. Was simple enough but email push was broken (I think because I hacktivated). So I then tried Redsnow, which is much easier. Update to 4.0 from iTunes then run Redsnow to add Cydia and other functions (background, multitasking, etc.)

I purchased a 3Gs off eBay, got a great deal, but it came with 4.0 already on it. Can't wait to be able to Jailbreak that.

How would I be better off with the upgrade? What does the upgrade really do to the phone?

:) ok will do my homework

last Q - if i backup before upgrading -- will that save all my contacts, pics etc?

How do I reinstall my contacts and pics - or is that automatic?

manually back up your pics - 4 times out of 5 a backup fails to save my pics. Dead serious.
