iphone4 will not charge after recovery mode?

Yesterday I plugged my phone into my computer to charge. My MacBookPro said that it detected an iphone in recovery mode so I followed instructions to get it out. Today, I discovered the my phone will not charge. When it is plugged in it will keep the same % charge it had but gains not charge. I have troubleshot it, restarted it and even restored it and nothing worked. I decided to let it die and try to charge it. Sadly, all I have is a dead phone. Like before, I plug it in and it shows that it is plugged in but not charging. I need suggestions please.

Also, although it is not the problem, I have water damage so taking it to apple will do me no good because they will say that, that is the cause..

Water damage is probably the reason it won’t charge (the USB port, that is). Try a different computer, a wall charger, a different cord, but I doubt you’ll get anywhere.
