I am not sure if this is the right place for this, if it is not please move it to the correct one.

My cousin left his iPhone playing music at a party when someone dropped some beer on it. The next morning the phone still worked. He could still answer calls by doing the normal swiping gesture on the screen but there is nothing displayed on it. He should have left the phone in rice and all that but that is too late. The phone still works and my question is: What part does he need to replace? Is it the whole touchscreen lcd front panel thing that needs to be replaced?

Providing the motherboard is not damaged then yes the whole digitiser with lcd will need to fitted as they are all bonded together. However I wouldn't' try it unless you've had previous experience repairing iPhones. Probably better to pay Apple and get the whole iPhone replaced
