I've noticed over the last couple of days that my ipan 1st gen wifi is superior to that of my newer iPhone 4s wifi connection.

Both devices are next to each other, the iPad sees 3 bars, the iPhone see's none.

Taking both devices to the source wifi router, both devices see 3 bars.

Has anyone else noticed this?

I would have thought the iPhone would have a stronger signal being a newer device and utilising newer technology but then admittedly I'm guessing here..

Any observations here.

Thanks

AFAIK, wifi is dependent on the size of the antenna, as the iPad is larger i see that it's obvious that it has stronger reception. :)

You can try out a speedtest on speediest.net app and see how they compare even though the difference in bars at different places to see which is really faster and not just have better reception!
