Hello

I don't know if this has been raised in another thread (search revealed zilch) but my iPhone5 earphones will not work on my iPhone3.

For the record my iPhone3 is my backup phone.

As I have no other earphones, I have no idea if the problem is withthe iPhone3 or the copatiility of iPhone5 earphones with iPhone3.

The iPhone5 earphones obviously work with my iPhone5.

Can someone confirm that the earphones are (are not) compatbile with iPhone3?

Thanks

It is compatible with iPhone 3G. The problem is with your phone,

I definitely have never heard of headphones with 3.5mm plugs that arent compatible with all 3.5mm jacks. The controller for volume and calls maybe, but the sound output part, nope.

Never heard of this "iPhone 3"... hmm..

Are you referring to the third iPhone? So, iPhone 3GS?
Or, the second iPhone? iPhone 3G?

A coworker of mine got an iPhone 5 and said that the jack on her iPhone 4 earbuds is too small for the iPhone 5 input and therefore slides out. Same with a pair of third-party headphones she has. I told her there must be something wrong with her iPhone 5, and to take it back, but she says it doesn't bother her because the new earbuds fit just fine. Strange...

They fit perfect on my iPhone 5, but did NOT work well in my iPhone 4, my sister's iPhone 4, or her nano. They were distorted if you just moved the cord on the latter 3. Very, very weird. :(

I made the same experience

I bought the new earphones for iPhone5, with it they work just fine.

With my iPhone4G and my iPhone3G when I make calls I can hear the other party, but they cannot hear me at all.

The set of earphones is brandnew and I plug it in in the right way.

Do you mean backwards compatible? The volume change may not work, however the rest of the functionality should.
