iPhone5 screen when on phone call

Anyone else having issues with the screen coming on when taking on your iPhone 5? This happens constantly and my face hits mute or speaker or hangs up or whatever.... I called apple they said restore to new should fix it. Nope... Still does it. Just wondering if I'm the only one. Will be calling apple again to request a replacement

This usually happens if you take the iPhone away from your face for a bit and then put it back.

Do you have any kind of screen protector? Could it be out of alignment? Also, my wife had a problem with a thick case making that function intermittently.

Does any of the above apply?

It has happened since day 1. With and without a screen protector. Doesn't matter what position I have it. The screen still comes on :-(

I think it's a sensor glitch.. it happened very often on my old 4 and it's very annoying!
