iPhones for the Middle-East?

I mean, come on already. It is bad enough us westerners have to live here, but can we please get the iPhone over here? I mean, there are some hacked ones floating around, but it looks like the 3G will be unhack-able, which means I wouldn't even be able to use one of them, either! I am in Qatar, and so far Apple hasn't expressed any interest, have they? I mean, the Arabs over here love Apple gear, they sell macs and ipods everywhere...can we please get some iPhones now?

I only knew of QTel, is Vodafone a new company here? I didn't know they opened up the monopoly. I hope so though, I hate being an apple exile over here, missing out on the iPhone fun.
