I work for an Apple reseller and the strangest thing just happened. A middle aged female customer came in saying that she was typing and email, and half way through the message she was sending, her phone changed to "activate this iPhone". She brought it in and we realised that somehow she had iOS 5 on her phone.. Has anyone heard of this happening?

I've attached some pictures.

Another thing that I found weird when I plugged it into the computer was that it said that the "software had expired". The woman had no idea she had iOS 5... Apparently.

I'm assuming somebody (Her husband? Brother?) put a beta version of iOS 5 on it, and then gave the phone to her (Or did it without her knowing). Then, when the beta expired, it showed that on the screen.
