What is the difference between Iphoto 08 vs Aperture 2?

Does aperture 2 do everything Iphoto 08 does plus more?
 
is aperture 2 only good to upgrade from iphoto, is if your camera does raw format?
 
iPhoto is good for a home use. I have both, and I use iPhoto for family/friends snapshots and pictures that I like on the internet. I use Aperture for everything serious/professional.
