I watched the Aperture demo video on apple's website, then I watched the demo video of iPhoto '08, and they are seriously, IDENTICLE! Like the option that you can fix a tilted picture, and change the brightness\contrast of a picture...
After watching both videos, it seems like Aperture is now useless... and a wiaste of money

Apparently you have never used Aperture

Aperture is nothing like iPhoto. That is like comparing iMovie to Final Cut Pro.

Edit : Download the demo of Aperture and see for yourself.

I'm sure that the introduction of iLife'08 will precede an update of Aperture to 2.0. The software hasn't been updated in a while and it needs to catchup to Lightroom.

I would like to see the web gallery updated. I think I remember a rumor on this board that Apple was considering releasing software similar to what an iWeb Pro would be.

Aperture is still the superior product.

corrected "preclude" for you

I'm sure that the introduction of iLife'08 will preclude an update of Aperture to 2.0.

I think you mean precede. :)

iPhoto is definitely not Aperture, but for someone like me, let's say and "enthusiast" who was considering Aperture, the addition of noise reduction, shadows and highlights recovery, neutral spot selector for white balance, copying and pasting adjustments to similar photos, and events adds a lot to iPhoto that made me interested in Aperture.

What sorts of things do you all think Aperture 2.0 might add?

I think Aperture 2.0 will be more of an update than a total revamp.

1) More printing options
2) More web gallery control
3) Added editing functions perhaps something for HDR images
