I searched around and found others that have had this issue, it seems to be related to the color profile of the image. sRGB is what should be sent when you order prints, but I think mine were in adobe RGB 1998.
Two things-- our Nikon D40 shoots in sRGB by default according to Rockwell, but the photos show up as adobe RGB 1998 on my iMac. Does iPhoto convert the color profile upon import somewhere? On the screen, the photos look fantastic, however the prints are very desaturated and dull.
Secondly, I found on the Apple discussion board the script to convert image's color profile that is stored in the /library/scripts folder; is there and an easy way to convert all my iPhoto library to the sRGB profile so that the prints turn out well, and- is there a way to run the 'enhance' edit function on the entire library? I am ok with running automator, but I don't want to duplicate my entire photo library or corrupt it.
I am sure others have run into this problem, what is the best way to tackle this?
